iOS 12 operating system was released by Apple last month itself and the company has already stopped signing it. If you wish to downgrade your iOS operating system version, you can downgrade it maximum to iOS 12.0.1 which was released for the general public merely a few days back. In the iOS 12.0.1 update the charging issue on iOS devices with screen turned off was fixed. Moreover, iOS 12.0.1 was also released to fix WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity issues being faced by the owners of the latest iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
However, this news doesn’t seems to be that bad at all. This is because a majority of the iOS users haven’t upgraded to iOS 12.0.1 and are still running their iOS devices on iOS 11.4 or iOS 12. Recently, UnC0ver, a new jailbreak for iOS 11.4 was released and it fixed all the issues being reported by the users running their devices on Electra Jailbreak. Moreover, the Pangu Team has reported that they have successfully jailbroken the latest iPhone XS running on iOS 12.
Downgrading to iOS 12 from iOS 12.0.1 Not Working – Apple Stops Signing the Firmware
The future seems to be bright for a jailbreak tool for iOS 12 to be released soon. Even Ian Beer had released his Kernel Exploits and Sandbox Escape mechanism for iOS 11.4.1 which could be a huge contribution towards developing a standalone jailbreak tool for iOS 11.4.1 as well as iOS 12.
Good news! Now you can bypass iCloud Activation Lock on iOS 11-11.4.1 and unlock a locked iPhone.
However, users who have already upgraded to iOS 12.0.1 or iOS 12.1 Beta this news will be quite disappointing as if they wish to jailbreak their iOS device they have to wait considerably longer as compared to users who are running their iOS devices on iOS 11.4.1 or iOS 12. Moreover, iOS 12.1 is claimed to be the safest iOS version ever developed. Well! That, indeed, future will tell.
Apple Stops Signing iOS 12 Firmware – iOS Users Can’t Downgrade Below iOS 12.0.1
Apple has already released the 5th Developer Beta for iOS 12.1 and the public release for the same seems to be pretty close now. If you have already upgraded to iOS 12.0.1 you cannot go the jailbreak way, hence, it is wise that you upgrade to iOS 12.1 as soon as the public version is released and enjoy the new features on your iOS device.
